Best Shared Habit Tracker Apps for Two People (2026)

Shared habit trackers for two: five apps compared for friends and couples, with the Chask penguin.

The best shared habit tracker for two people depends on what you want your friend or partner to see.
Choose HabitShare for separate habits with per-friend visibility, DuoKeep for one goal you both check in to, Daily Pact for a ranked challenge, Habitica for a shared game, or Habit Huddle for check-ins through the web or Discord.

For a couple, sharing access to an app is only the start.
You also need to know whose action counts, what happens when someone rests, and whether the free plan covers both people. This guide compares those decisions.

Published by MYOHO Group LLC, the developer of DuoKeep. Product information was checked on October 6, 2026. Recommendations use official descriptions; DuoKeep’s worked examples were also checked against its calculation rules. This is a developer-published comparison, with no overall usability score.

All five publish iPhone and Android versions. Availability and purchase prices can vary by country. Free limits describe different units: a pair, a personal habit, or a huddle.

These are five options with an actual sharing feature.
Apple Family Sharing or a shared subscription can reduce a household’s bill, but that alone does not give two people a common goal or let them see each other’s check-ins.

Which app fits your friend or partner?

HabitShare for different habits and selective sharing

HabitShare lets you decide which habits each friend can see. Habits are private by default.
If you read each evening and your partner runs three times a week, you can keep those goals separate and share the relevant records.

Its developer lists daily and weekly habits, reminders, and a free app.
Choose this model when each person wants their own routine. If you need one shared completion rule, compare the joint-goal setup below. See HabitShare’s official features.

DuoKeep for one goal with two individual check-ins

DuoKeep puts a goal, deadline, and both people’s daily records together.
Invite your friend or partner by code or QR code. Each person records a completed action or a rest day and can add a short note.

Choose DuoKeep if you both want to follow a goal such as “read for five minutes every day.”
The trade-off is a shared streak that requires both people to complete the day. Your partner can see rest days and unreported days, so decide whether that visibility suits you both.

Each pair gets one active goal free. A goal with a different person has its own free allowance.
DuoKeep organizes goals into pairs; for a challenge involving three or more people, consider a group app. Start a shared goal in DuoKeep.

Daily Pact for a challenge with rankings

Daily Pact supports private groups of up to 50 people, invitation codes, and daily or weekly challenges.
Members check in and compare results on leaderboards. It can suit two competitive friends and also leaves room for a larger group.

Its PactPause feature lets someone request a streak-protected break for the group to approve.
Each user manages their own paid plan after the trial. Choose it if both of you want rankings and group challenges; check the two-person cost before committing. See its features and pricing.

Habitica for friends who want an RPG

Habitica awards experience, gold, and items when you complete tasks.
You can form a party with friends and work through quests. Challenges offer task lists that participants add to their own tasks.

Choose Habitica when both people want the game as well as the habit tracking.
Each person manages individual tasks inside that system. The core app is free, with optional purchases and subscriptions. Read the developer’s App Store description or visit Habitica.

Habit Huddle for web and Discord check-ins

Habit Huddle combines members’ check-ins into a Checkin Chain, with replies and reactions.
It offers web, iPhone, Android, and Discord access. Its guide describes a free plan with one active habit, and the service says missed days are not displayed to other members.

Check visibility before choosing it for a private couple’s log.
Its homepage describes “Exclusive Huddles” as visible to everyone, with invitations or approval controlling who can join. A restriction on joining is a different setting from a restriction on viewing. Review Habit Huddle’s current features before adding personal notes.

What your partner sees when you finish or rest

Compare the information your partner receives, including on a day you do nothing.
A completed activity, a recorded rest day, and an absent check-in can have different meanings.

AppVisibility or break rule to consider
HabitShareYou control visibility for each habit and each friend. Its main feature page does not explain a missed-day display rule.
DuoKeepBoth people’s status appears on the shared goal: Done, Rest day, or Not yet. A rest day is recorded but does not count as a completed day in the shared streak.
Daily PactMembers compare progress on leaderboards. PactPause offers a group-approved, streak-protected break.
HabiticaParty quests connect individual task completion to a shared game. Check the quest’s rules before treating it as a two-person completion record.
Habit HuddleThe developer says misses stay off display. Check who can view your huddle as well as who can join it.

If you want to compare both people’s records, choose a format that shows them separately.
If you mainly want encouragement after completing something, a check-in feed may fit better. Agree on that preference before creating the goal.

A shared reading goal in DuoKeep

Here is a concrete setup for two people: each reads for five minutes a day, using any book.
They follow the same completion rule and record their own actions. Reading different books does not require different goals.

Create the goal and invite your person

  1. Choose New promise. Enter “Read for five minutes,” add an optional reason, and choose a deadline.
  2. Create the goal, then choose your reminder settings or skip that step.
  3. Share the invitation code or QR code with your partner. Codes expire after 24 hours; generating a new code replaces the previous one.
  4. Your partner opens DuoKeep, chooses Join with an invite code, and enters the code or scans the QR code.

You can begin without email registration, according to the current store description.
Add email sign-in before changing devices if you want to protect access to your account. An internet connection is required to sync with your partner.

Record your own completion or rest day

After reading, choose I did it, optionally add a note, and save the check-in.
Your partner makes their own entry. The shared goal shows both statuses, so one person’s completion does not mark the other person as done.

The Take a rest day option records a rest; it does not award a completed day to the shared streak.
This distinction matters if your plan includes days off. A saved rest is visible and different from leaving the day unreported.

How the shared streak counts both people

A shared-streak day requires Done from both participants on the same goal date.
To check the examples below, we ran DuoKeep’s streak calculation with example records. These are rule checks, not results from a week-long user trial.

Example after two consecutive completed daysShared streak
Both people finish today3 days
One person finishes; the other has not reported yet; today is still open2 days; yesterday’s streak remains while today is open
One person records a rest today; today is still open2 days; the rest does not add a completed day
That rest day has ended; the new day is not complete0 days
Both people complete the new day after the rest1 day
Worked examples checked on October 6, 2026. An ended day without both Done entries interrupts the shared streak; the check-in history remains available.

Choose this rule if you want a count of days you both completed.
If your priority is protecting a streak through planned breaks, consider a tracker with an explicit break-protection feature instead.

Check the shared date if you live in different time zones

DuoKeep’s goal follows one time zone, shown in the goal details.
Both participants’ entries use that goal date. Creating the goal uses the creator’s device time zone, so check the displayed zone before starting a long-distance habit.

For example, October 6 at 01:30 UTC is October 5 in Los Angeles and October 6 in Tokyo.
A goal set to America/Los_Angeles still counts that instant as October 5 for both people. Two local evenings may fall on different shared dates; agree on when each person will check in.

What the free or paid plan costs for two people

Start by checking whether the free limit covers the activity you want to share.
HabitShare is free; DuoKeep covers one active goal per pair; Habit Huddle’s guide describes one active habit; Habitica offers a free core app. Daily Pact’s free access is a trial.

Paid arrangementTotal for the pairWhat that calculation covers
Daily Pact: both choose monthly$1.98/month; $23.76 across 12 months2 × $0.99; each person has their own subscription
Daily Pact: both choose annual$19.98/year2 × $9.99, paid annually
DuoKeep Plus: one person subscribes$2.99/month; $35.88 across 12 monthsUS iPhone listing; unlimited active goals for pairs that include the subscriber; ads removed for that subscriber
DuoKeep Plus: both subscribe$5.98/monthUS iPhone rate for two subscribers, if both want the subscription’s ad removal
Illustrative totals at the listed rates checked October 6, 2026, assuming unchanged pricing and continuous access. These are different products and features. Android and other storefront prices may differ.

You do not need two DuoKeep Plus subscriptions to add active goals to one pair.
The paid subscriber’s pairs receive the goal allowance, while ad removal applies to the subscriber. See the US App Store listing for the current iPhone purchase option.

Daily Pact’s annual arrangement costs $3.78 less for the pair than twelve months at its monthly rate.
That is a billing comparison, not a reason to pay before trying it. Use the trial to check whether both people want the challenge format. Its pricing page explains that each user chooses a plan.

A simple agreement before your first check-in

Write down the completion rule and the sharing rules together.
For a reading habit, you can copy the example below into a shared note and adjust it before installing anything.

DecisionExample agreement for two readers
What counts as done? Each person reads for five minutes. Different books are fine.
Who records it?Each person reports their own reading.
When is the daily cutoff?Use the goal’s displayed time zone and choose a time both people can meet.
What counts on a rest day?Record a rest honestly. In DuoKeep, accept that an ended rest day interrupts the shared streak.
What should a reminder look like?Send one message at an agreed time, if the other person wants it.
When do we review the setup? After a week, check whether both people used it and whether the shared record helped.

A shared note is enough if you only need two entries and a daily message.
Choose an app when you want its particular record, reminder, game, or group features. For one common goal with someone you already know, DuoKeep gives your pair one active goal free.

Questions before choosing a shared habit app

Can an iPhone and an Android phone share a habit tracker?

All five apps in this comparison publish versions for both platforms.
Check that both people can install the chosen app in their country. DuoKeep’s download page links to its iPhone and Android listings.

Which is the best free habit tracker for couples?

HabitShare is a good starting point when each person wants separate habits and selective sharing.
DuoKeep’s free allowance suits a pair trying one common goal. If you want web or Discord access, also check Habit Huddle’s free option and visibility settings.

Does a rest day preserve the DuoKeep shared streak?

No. A rest entry records what happened, but a shared-streak day requires both people to choose Done.
The previous streak can remain visible while today is open. Once a day ends without both completions, it interrupts that streak.

Can I have a different DuoKeep goal with another friend?

Yes. Each pair has its own allowance of one active goal.
A reading goal with your partner and a walking goal with a different friend are separate pairs. Finished and expired goals do not count toward the active limit, according to the store description.
